Steel is interwoven into the fabric of our lives, present in every interaction we have with the world around us. Throughout history, mankind has forged steel, and steel has, in turn, shaped our progress. This remarkable material will continue to build the future.
For 80 years, we've poured our hearts, minds, and hard work into building a better tomorrow.
The seeds of Çolakoğlu Metalurji were sown in 1945 when its founder, Mehmet Rüştü Çolakoğlu, opened a steel trading business in Karaköy.
By the end of the 1950s, the company had opened its first steel rolling mill and started production.
In response to the growing demand for steel billets, the company expanded its operations and opened a new steel mill in Dilovası in 1969.
In 1985, the company achieved a milestone in Turkish steel production, by becoming the first private sector company to produce wire rod. In 1990, the company expanded its product range with the introduction of ribbed construction steel.
In 2007, the company embraced cutting-edge technology by commissioning what was then the world's largest electric arc furnace, solidifying its position at the forefront of the industry.
Çolakoğlu Metalurji made history in 2010 with the opening of its hot strip mill. This investment enabled it to become the first Turkish company to fabricate sheet metal using slabs produced directly from its own electric arc furnace, a significant innovation in the industry.
