A deep commitment to people

At Çolakoğlu Metalurji, education is the cornerstone of our corporate social responsibility initiatives. We believe that our support for education creates lasting positive change for individuals, our country, and the world. As a testament to our deep commitment to people, we contribute to schools, student dormitories, and educational workshops.

Built in Gebze with the support of Çolakoğlu Metalurji, the school boasts a 20,000 square meter campus, 28 classrooms, and a capacity for 952 students, making it the most modern and well-equipped educational investment in the region. Ali Nuri Çolakoğlu Vocational & Technical Anadolu Lycee provides a diverse range of programs, including renewable energy technologies, industrial automation technology, and electrical and electronics technologies. By producing well-equipped graduates in these increasingly important fields, the school enables its students to pursue promising careers and start their professional lives one step ahead. With an exceptional faculty and state-of-the-art facilities, this school stands out by providing students with a cutting-edge educational experience. With its modern campus featuring three science laboratories, four workshops, a 300-seat auditorium, a cafeteria, and indoor and outdoor sports facilities, the school offers its students a high-quality and modern education.

Originally established as a practical and applied arts school for girls in Gebze, the school relocated to new premises built Mehmet Rüştü Çolakoğlu, in 1983. Over the years, additional buildings were added to the school. Today, Çolakoğlu Vocational & Technical Anadolu Lycee has a student body of 1,093, of which 962 are the high school division, 61 in flexible learning programs at lycee-level, and 70 in kindergarten.

In 2020, we opened our second workshop at the İzmit Vocational & Technical Anadolu Lycee, this one focused on electrical and electronic technologies. This was also a part of the “Full Support for Vocational Education for Turkey” (METAD) project, in collaboration with the MESS Vocational Education Scholarship Fund. The workshop aims to equip students with the skills needed for the metal sector, enhance the quality and appeal of vocational education, and contribute to broader economic and social development.

In 2018, we opened a Cold Forming Workshop at İzmit Vocational & Technical Anadolu Lycee as part of the “Full Support for Vocational Education for Turkey” (METAD) project, in collaboration with the MESS Vocational Education Scholarship Fund. This initiative aims to address the metal sector’s need for skilled workers by enhancing the quality and appeal of vocational and technical education, ultimately contributing to economic and social progress.

Çolakoğlu Metalurji is proud to support the education of our country’s future leaders through the İstanbul Technical University Mehmet Rüştü Çolakoğlu Men’s Dormitory. This modern facility provides comfortable and convenient living spaces for numerous students, helping them focus on their studies and achieve their goals.

MATPUM was established as part of Middle East Technical University (METU) to bridge the gap between academia and practice. The center aims to share the expertise and rich cultural heritage of the Faculty of Architecture with external stakeholders and the wider community, creating a mutually beneficial exchange that enhances both education and research. The MATPUM building, constructed in 2004 with support from Çolakoğlu Metalurji, is itself a testament to architectural excellence, reflecting the faculty’s commitment to design and functionality.

Built by Çolakoğlu Metalurji in 2004, Mübeccel Çolakoğlu Primary School is located in the Dilovası district of İzmit. As a modern educational institution, the school provides education for 600 students with 13 classrooms, 2 science laboratories, a library, and a multipurpose hall.

Community and social responsibility initiatives at Çolakoğlu Metalurji

At Çolakoğlu Metalurji, we encourage and support our employees’ participation in socially-beneficial projects and undertakings.

Since 2017, we have been carrying out various voluntary social responsibility activities in diverse areas, ranging from reforestation projects and animal shelter support to school support projects and book campaigns.

In the midst of the wildfires that ravaged our country in 2021, we contributed to reforestation efforts by donating 4,000 saplings.

Our commitment to social responsibility encompasses a wide range of agencies and organizations including the Turkish Red Crescent, Kocaeli Governorship, Kocaeli Province Development Service & Social Life Support Association, Kocaeli Darıca Farabi Training & Research Hospital, Kocaeli Care & Rehabilitation Center, Dilovası Municipality, Dilovası District Health Directorate, and Dilovası State Hospital.

In 2023, we launched the One Tree for Every Thousand Tonnes Project. With this project, we aim to contribute to nature by planting a sapling for every thousand tonnes we produce.
